3 YEAR OLD FUNDING

Children are eligible for Nursery Education Funding the term after their third birthday i.e.: on admittance to the Preschool. From the term after their third birthday, all children are entitled to five funded 3 hour sessions of education a week, spaces permitting. Documentation is required to support the funding, this includes proof of your child’s ID e.g.: Birth certificate and proof of your child’s address which is provided by staff completing a home visit.

Free entitlement hours; 15 hours a week -term time only

Additional private paid hours; N/A

Snacks provided with no charge to the parent

Any additional activities or trips may incur a charge to cover costs.

Parents will be required to provide nappies, wipes and nappy sacks

2 YEAR OLD FUNDING

Children are eligible for two year old funding the term after their second birthday, ie, on admittance to the Preschool from the term after their second birthday, all funded children are entitled to five funded 3 hour sessions of education a week, spaces permitting. Documentation is required to support that funding is eligible, your personal funding number gained through Bedford Borough Council.

We may have spaces available for paying two year olds, this is currently £16.50 per session. Fees must be paid during the first week that your child starts Preschool and then by the first week of each half term thereafter. Fees must be paid on ParentPay and registration details will be sent home with your child on their first day. Childcare Vouchers are also accepted as payment. If you wish to use vouchers then please see the Office to set up payment. If your child is absent for any reason, you will still be required to pay the full charge for the session. Nappies, wipes and nappy sacks will all need to be provided by parents/carers using the Preschool.

Any parent experiencing difficulty paying the fees should speak to a member of staff, in confidence. We will endeavour to offer support where we are able. However, if payments are in arrears, this would affect your child’s place. The Preschool/Office will seek appropriate measures to recover owed and late fees.

30 HOURS PROVISION

Some children are eligible for 30 hours childcare per week. Parents/carers should check their eligibility through the Bedford Borough or Government website (https://www.bedford.gov.uk/schools-education-and-childcare/early-years-and-childcare/family-information-service/childcare-0 or https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare

If the criteria are met, parents/carers will receive a code which must be shared with the Preschool. This code is needed for the funding form, submitted by the Preschool every term. The code will be checked to ensure continued eligibility. 

Hours: 8.45am – 2.45pm

Parents/carers can opt for their child to stay until the end of the afternoon session, at 3.30pm, at a cost of £5.00 per day for the extra 45 minutes. Payments are made in half termly installments and must be paid in full, and only during the first week of each new half term or during the first week your child joins Preschool. Parents/carers will receive a payment schedule on the day their child starts Preschool. If your child is absent for any reason, you will still be required to pay the additional amount.

Additional private paid hours: Payment for an additional 45 minutes added to the end of session, if applicable £5.00 a day

Food charges: school dinners or home provided healthy packed lunch

Snacks provided with no charge to the parent

Parents will be required to provide nappies, wipes and nappy sacks

NOTICE PERIOD

Two weeks written notice must be given if you no longer require a place for your child.
