Year 1

Welcome to Year 1

In Year 1 we explore a range of topics that include, the Great Fire of London, Toys from the past, animals in our environment. We think about how things have changed over time and the cause and effect. We take time to explore the world around us and get the opportunity to take part in a range of outdoor learning. We explore all aspects of the curriculum in lots of practical and creative activities to help us with our learning.  In PE, we work on developing our fundamental movement skills and putting these into practice in both gymnastics and dance. As well as developing our ball skills.

During our animal’s topic we get a visit from the birds of prey. We also explore toys from past with a trip to the Higgins museum, where there is the opportunity to play with a variety of different toys!
